Personal, social and health education (PSE) at Stoke High School aims to provide all students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to develop into active citizens who can make sound judgments about a range of situations. Students will develop their knowledge, skills, and understanding to enable them to make informed decisions about their health, relationships, careers, finances, and wellbeing. Students will think critically, evaluate evidence, debate ideas, make persuasive arguments and justify their conclusions using a range of vocabulary. They will also gain the ability to recognise bias, critically evaluate arguments, and look for alternative interpretations which are essential skills. Students will develop the capacity to make decisions when facing risks, and complex contexts. Students will understand how to manage challenges, know when to when to ask for help, and to how to access support to thrive as individuals and members of society and able to make the most of all opportunities to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain.
